Social programme Sunday 18th of June

The NUAS Communication Conference social programme will be a time for delegates to catch up with old friends and meet new ones in a relaxed atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of the conference sessions. 

KODE 4 – the art museum: Bergen and the World 1400-1900

Join a guided tour of the oldest art in KODE’s collections that tells fascinating stories about Europe and Norway. In the oldest part of the collection you can experience religious motifs, stately portraits and bustling crowds in Dutch genre paintings. Immerse yourself in magnificent depictions of Norway’s mountains and fjords in art from the 1800s – these can also include evocative scenes from everyday life.

City sightseeing with a guide – Walk at Bryggen/ The Wharf

The guide will take you for a walk on the Wharf, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The ancient gables and the narrow alleyways will make you feel like stepping back in time to the era when the Hanseatic merchants dominated Bergen’s trade. The guide will tell you interesting stories about the stockfish trade and about daily life in the Middle ages.

Boat trip in the archipelago of Bergen

A two hour sightseeing and fjord cruise with our beautiful and comfortable motor ship “ms Midthordaland”, giving you an opportunity to view and experience Bergen from the sea. Our voyage starts in the inner port of Bergen.

Hike to mount Fløyen

This hike to the top of Mount Fløyen starts in the city center, close to the Fish Market and the world famous Bryggen. Top of Mount Fløyen is 320 meters above sea level (1050 ft), so the hike elevation will be around 300 meters and it is quite steep. Expect to use 45 minutes just walking up, plus stops. Most of the road has asphalt, some parts have gravel. You will pass many nice lookouts and several different neighbourhoods. And of course the view from the top of the mountain!
